Privacy

Collect less. Explain why.

Our goal is to collect only the information we actually need for the thing you asked us to do.

Browsing

You can use the public website without creating an account or identifying yourself.

Forms

When you sign up for news, an event, volunteer work, or help, we store the information you choose to provide so we can deliver that service and keep appropriate records.

Attribution and security

We may record basic referral information such as the page or campaign that brought you here, along with limited technical information needed to prevent spam and abuse. We do not build personal profiles from anonymous browsing.

Donations

Payment information such as card numbers should be handled by the payment provider, not stored in The Infinite Hand database. Donors may choose to be anonymous in our community records where possible, while recognizing that payment processors may still need identifying information.

Help requests

Requests for help can include sensitive circumstances. Access to those records is restricted. We use aggregate numbers for public impact reporting rather than publishing individual stories by default.
